In iPhoto; adjust levels, contrast, brightness, shadow levels, saturation, warm a little, sharpen. Copy to Graphic Converter; resize in steps to 1,100 pix wide, sharpen, size to 640, adj file size and strip exif files save for upload.
Lens, 300mm f4.5 ED IF Nikkor, no filter
Thank you everyone for the votes, and esp the helpful comments. I knew that this was a "busy" shot, but it was full of life, so I entered it.
I just walked as close as I could without disturbing them , set up focus and exposure, and then stepped a few more steps and shot as they lifted off. |

| Now this shot represents Fauna to me. Sure they're not all sharp, but it almost fun trying to pick out which one is sharpest. Exposure seems spot on, but a little more saturation would give it more impact. |
