 This photo was taken outside my house in our garden. I was taking pictures of birds from the ground and I this thing almost crawled on me. I had to get some pics of it, and this one was my favorite. It was walking thought the grass and then looked straight at me. Right after this photo was taken, it dropped to the ground and ate an ant. It was a pretty neat sight to behold. I wish I could submit the picture whole, as it looks so much better with all the grass, but the mantis is way to small is I just shrink the original to 640.

Would have been better if it was zoomed in more. Gets lost in all the grass.

Nice view of this guy. It's a shame that the depth of field blurs his abdomen.

I never get tired of mantis shots that are done well, and this doesn't disappoint. Great shot.
