Haste makes waste! In my rush to get this entered (AND getting home at 11:45pm the night of the shot and the last night for entries) I grabbed the wrong shot. I grabbed it, resized it and saved for the web and hit submit. When it popped up on the voting page...I almost died.

Although still probably not winning the blue, this is the shot I had THOUGHT I was entering:

While I can appreciate that you wanted to incorporate some of the more prominent buildings on the beach, the placement of the tree in the middle of the image does little to enhance the photo. You might also want to align the horizon as it seems to tilt significantly to the right.

the horizon could be a bit more level, but I like the concept.

Too dark. Needs longer exposure.

Delightful gradient in the sky adds impact, and the centered subject works here to emphasize the "aloneness" of the tree.

Nice depiction...

This might be more interesting if the tree wasn't dead center. Also the picture is really crooked, try straightening out that horizon. Get this shot at sunset and I think you would be much happier with the results.

I like the idea and the sky is pretty. Wish there were a little more light on the tree to help it stand out from the background a bit. Plus your horizon is tilted, so that's why I'm giving this a 5.

Not on the level ...water and your score are going down as a result...

I like the concept of the photo, I think I would have like it better if the horizon was level.

oh to be able to hit that beach right now! *smile* Love the waves in the background. Are you taking a pounding for the "tilt" of this shot? I've had SO many where even though I was TRYING for that tilt, have gotten POUNDED for not being "level" LOL

Why not straighten the horizon?

It needs to be rotated a bit to make the horizon line level.

Tilted, cluttered...not that inspiring.

That horizon is very skew!

composition seems a bit dull and the lighting is flat, having a tree right in the middle of the photograph leaves the eye with nowhere to go, next time I would try putting it off to the side and having the shadow be a larger part of the image
