 my first experement with backlighting using the plexi tabletop. 3 lights and a gel, extra sharpening and an overall levels adjustment. i hated the 'no spot editing' business... also my first submission to dpc. what a great @#$%ing site!

While I really like the blue background, I think this would also be a powerful bw image.

the hand is too red. It looks like that is what's being choked to death.

Interesting shot, nice texture on hand and great background. Interesting texture contrast. However, the shot leads to other thoughts other than texture.

very nice skin texture. most people seem to leave skin flat. Couple of dust spots are quite obvious at the top. overall a great shot.

texture of the skin is pretty good, blue of background a bit overpowering

You've done a good job of texture on the hand. While if it were mine, I'd probably hold back on the saturation button a bit, it isn't mine, it's yours and you've done a good job depicting your take on the subject.

Best yet. Good job on the focus and the background coloring is great. I may be back with a higher score, depends on what else is in the challenge.

Blatantly dpc-friendly blue background here :-) Well enough lit to show the skin texture, though that of the note suffers and has become very bland. Skin tones are oddly red (maybe that's just you :-)).
