 This is Nimue again! Today she got her results for her Jazz exam and she got honours. That is the highest mark you can get and she is very proud of herself ;)
I know the sky is blown out and made worse by the minor levels, curves and brightness/contrast adjustments I made plus the velvia action .This was taken in the early evening any tips on how to not blow out the sky at any time of the day would be much asppreciated ;)

Congrats to Nimue! A marvelous image, you've captured her exuberance perfectly! As for the sky, I'm one of those odd people who actually like blown backgrounds in the right circumstances, and this sure fits the bill :-) I think this is great as is, what a little cutey pie!

Awwwwwww. . . that proud face!!! Well worth any technical flaws! Sometimes, ya just gotta capture the moment and they don't always happen in perfect lighting.

But you can create a curves/levels adjustment LAYER, then on that layer, erase the parts you don't want "adjusted" and that way keep your sky as it was originally.

But like I say, this photo transcends technical perfection. The moment is perfect, and you GOT IT! :)
