A Kruisspin (Cross Spider)in its web in my basement.

PP = Crop, Color Filter 82 @ 30% (forgot to change white balance to incandescent), Levels, Curves, Black border, USM, Resize to 640 X, Spot sharpening on some body edge and leg tip areas, Cloning out of some hot spots on web.

I like the composition and what detail is there. But for a macro, it's not sharp enough to give me things to explore. Maybe bumping up the contrast would've helped your score, but if you like it, then it's good enough as is. :)

Of COURSE I let the spider live. He and his buddies help keep down the mosquito and fly population.

Very nice detail on the spider - can't say I've seen one like that before! Overall I think the thing that may have hurt your score (since I don't have a problem with the sharpness on the spider, but I like things soft) is the background appears to be grainy/noisy. It could well be that's the way background simply IS but to some it may appear as a lot of noise. (Did you let the spider live??)
