Lea, I like the composition and the color. They both remind me of more traditional photos and art. My big problem is the blotchiness of the background. I don't know whether that's noise, JPG compression artifacts, or something else, but it distracts me quite a bit. I'd also suggest trying it with the flame centered. I normally like off-center, but here it just feels like empty space to me.

Nope, not an OFF candle.

It's a Glade scented oil candle, "blushing berry"

Very cool for a macro shot. I haven't seen a flame capture quite like this one. Love the detail in the metal? Has a nice gritty feel to it.

I like the detail in the lighter and the contrast of the frame. The only thing that bothers me about this shot is the grain in the background.

Well composed but it does little to hold my attention. Not sure the Duo tone was the best choice for this.
