After several failed attempts to light an icecube on fire, didn't think it would be that hard, I ended up going this route. Put a glass votive in a platic cup and filled water around it then froze it. Once frozen, took out of the cup and placed lighter fluid in the votive holder with a small piece of paper and oila.. Ice on fire! Placed the icecube on a mirror in front of my black refrigerator. Placed a low-light flash light next to it to light up the icecube as I was shooting in darkness and it helped with focusing. That's about it, shot off about 40 shots to make sure I got something I could use. I don't think I'll ever try this again, way too much work! :-)

Post processing: Cloned out the flame from the reflection and left just the icecube also used the healing brush around the top of the icecube to help conceal the glass inside a bit. There was a little reflection from the refrigerator that I also cloned out. Adjusted curves and saturation just a bit, added border and resized.

Nice idea and pretty colors, but it seems somehow flat to me.

Interesting use of fire ... if the container were money (wrapped bills) it would be a WOW.

i find this shot interesting in many ways, but at the same time not interesting as far as perspective. the angle you chose to shoot from is pretty normal. i think a different perspective may increase the overall interest.
