 A friends mechanic shop. Chad has the new jacket...he is in love with the movie "Cars", like every other little boy in the world.

Lighting is a 430ex on with a shoot through 'brollie' (that is what scalvert calls them). Triggered by 580 on camera flash. A touch of ambient light hitting the back of him from some high overhead windows on the back wall. Otherwise, all artificial. Some dodge and burn, especially on the floor and his jeans, soft light layer to mute the BG. Resize, USM.

Thanks for sharing your lighting info. I am miles away from getting anything beyond my on-camera flash (must get lenses first!). But it's great to see what kind of effect other lighting can have. This is an AWESOME shot. Love how he mostly stands out from the background and yet at the same time looks like he belongs there.

FANTASTIC lighting!

I just love what it does to the colours - how crisp and wonderful the image is - I'm keen to try such lighting - thanks for the inspiration - BRILLIANT!

Wonderful portrait! Makes me smile. Good light, too, though I know little of flash either on or off camera, so don't take my word for it.
