What an eye looking back at me!! Great detail in this!

This looks either overexposed or overprocessed. As such, you've lost a great deal of texture in the skin around the eye. I think your topic/focus of texture is supposed to be the color part of the eye itself, but it doesn't work too well for me.

wow

A good example of using PS to enchance an image. It's not subtle but the effect is pretty neat. Perhaps not for DPC but for design work etc it woudl be great. 8

Wow! Very intense. Not sure about the texture element but very interesting shot.

Certainly gets your attention. Nice sharp focus. Really like how the eyelid is raised to an unnatural extent. Curious how it would have looked in B&W also. Cool

the texture is misleading.. excellent image.

nice work

I think this is fantastic. The detail you got in the eye is very interesting, but I'm not sure how that will do for texture. I was trying to get some shots of my pupil dilating the other day and found that it was pretty much impossible with the techniques I was trying. Have you tried that in your eye experiments?

Wow great eye shot

This is an artistic shot that could be enhanced to bring out even more texture (the iris is excellent) I'd like to see more of the red lines in the eye (they're washed out above the iris so there isn't much to frame your eyeball along the top edge leaving my eye stuck at the top

Great macro shot!!! Really impressive

Great shot!

In better light, the iris would be great. Too blown out here, though.

great photo of eye texture

Nice shot, a little over exposed...but I'm no professional. Texture of an eyeball...smooooth.

very good shot. Although it seems as if the main point of this picture is the iris. Technically, its not a texture, you cant really feel it, although it is a good shot, which over comes the texture issue.

Eyeball! Feel like I should be ready to catch it, so I guess the texture must be evident. A bit bright for my tastes. Not crazy about the crop on this. I would have tried to get a shot with the iris more centered and captured less surrounding skin, and maybe mroe lashes. My two cents worth.

This is off-beat and overly color adjusted enough to be good. Great clarity and a high imact image. One of the best for this challenge.
02/18/2004 05:25:48 PM
wow, beautiful and yet scary!
02/18/2004 03:51:54 PM
Don't see texture here - no sensation of feel, of a tactile surface, of graduation of smoothness and roughness. Intriguing subject that this is - and fine illustration of an iris (and the extreme colouring is very interesting) - I think it out of place in a challenge of this title.

Excellent mix of textures comes through. Not sure I like the colors being so orange/red.
02/18/2004 11:58:40 AM
bit overexposed
02/18/2004 08:43:49 AM
That's just creepy looking! :)
02/18/2004 08:25:56 AM
Crazy shot, not really a texture though
02/18/2004 06:53:49 AM
This is overexposed a bit, but the eye idea is a good one. I know it is smooth, but it doesn't look that way.
02/18/2004 05:58:03 AM
Perfect macro, good luck
02/18/2004 02:46:33 AM
I digging this photo. Great job.

this is the second eyeball pic..i still don;t get the texture
02/18/2004 12:59:05 AM
wow!

The textures in the eye are incredible. It just seems a little too washed out.

wow. i like the contrast and saturation.. excellent photo.. i don't know about how well it fits the 'texture' challange.. i mean.. it has texture.. but you're digging deep in that sense. .. i have never seen lines so defined in a person's iris.. but lines aren't texture. an eye is smooth.... this photo doesn't really make me think of the texture "smooth" so i don't think i can give it a 10. I would if I could.
