In England the insect that we call a Daddy Longlegs is a type of crane fly - always takes me aback when different nations use the same words for different things! This is a super composition of an unusual insect (certainly one I have never seen before); the blue background acts as a good foil for the main subject, particularly with the interesting lighting on its legs and on the top of the seed head. It is a shame that you haven't been able to reflect a bit more light on to the subject, as it is a little dark on my monitor (admitedly uncalibrated).

Beautiful bokeh in this image. Lighting captured the translucense (sp)of the spiders legs well. |
