The book of Common Prayer goes back to the 16th century, and this edition was printed in 1861, a copy was given to my grandfather in 1910, then to my mother who passed it on to me in 1958 when I started sailing off shore it was always in my kit.

I know this image will not score well, but means a lot to me.

I'm glad you like it, Brian. Very cool story. I think the score reflects the fuzziness and low contrast, plus the yellow cast. Also, I think photos of other people's art don't generally get people excited.

You might try a different composition and lighting scheme for the current "Something Old" challenge.

Brian, what a special photo. I think in another challenge, this would have scored much much better. You can tell that it is not processed to look old, but is in fact very very old. Which gives it so much character and meaning. The composition is really good, but mostly it's the subject and the special meaning behind the photo that makes it so appealing to me.

Hold those prayers close to your heart now. . .and you can count on the prayers of your Texas friend to cover you from now on after the things you learned at the doctor today! Being such a strong Christian, I'm taking comfort in the fact that a book of prayer is so important to you :)
