We went for an extended weekend to Rockville, Indiana for the covered bridge festival, which is why no posts for a few days.

After work on Thursday we drove out to see the Capitol Steps and then to Crawfordsville, Indiana. We arrived after midnight and their internet wasn't working so this was actually taken on Friday.

On the way down we decided to stop at Turkey Run State Park just to check it out. It's really beautiful there and we hardly saw any of the park and took tons of pictures, but had to leave to get to the festival. It would be an awesome place for a GTG. I have quite a few images but didn't take the hood for the 10-20 and many pictures have lens flare. Live and learn.

This is a composite of 6 exposures - HDR/tonemap and slight hue/sat & curves adjustments. I like the HDR this time but the sky still isn't quite right. I have a few darker exposures that may help but it's way too late to try now.

Oh, this is awesome! What a beautiful scene. I'm anxious to see more of your pictures from the weekend. The perspective looking up at that bridge is so striking. I think this would have made a great Point of View submission, but oh wait. . .the HDR thing.

I discovered that you can open a RAW file in your HDR software and tonemap a single image, but it only works with RAW photos. But it really makes a huge difference and gives you HDR results that you can't get by just basic editing techniques. And it's legal in basic editing. Might see if you have any more of these awesome shots and try it. I sure would vote this one high.

Beautiful scene and composition. I'm with you. I'd like it darker overall with a bit more contrast. Looks like a great place to spend a day or two.

Far out! Love the perspective, the little bit of blue at the top - like there's hope of getting out of there... :o) Great photo.

I can literally feel the cool lushness of this. The HDR did a good job of equalizing the darks and lights of the shot. And lens flare isn't always a bad thing, so make sure you don't throw stuff out just because of it.

this is totally brilliant .. ppl keep talking about HDR and i'v downloaded the software but never got around to using it .. this is a fantastic result .. love your processing ..
it seems some of us are able to post one pic a day, some of us fall behind and some of us are total maniacs and put in 4 in one day ... !! .. that's me .. i wish some other ppl would do it too .. it would make me feel less extreme .. :)

Lovely image. I like the composition as it leads you thru the photo. Gorgeous park, bet you have many beautiful images from there! I like your vivid, blue sky, it's better than burning it out like I seem to do!
