Good detail and lighting on the glass and pencil, though I'm not a huge fan of the cloth used as background. Perhaps a single color background would make the shot stand out more, due to simplicity.

What I find interesting are the funky separations you've got happening with the bg colour and liquid in the glass. But I'm afraid, I'm still looking at a pencils being pencils.

I had to have a second look to see that the pencils were broken and stuffed in the glass. Good conveyance of the idea, great composition.

? looks like a couple shirts, a pencil, and a cup of sludge. the pencil is still a pencil.

The fabric around the glass just seems to add noise to the image.
