 The tip of this pencil made me think of a black fang protruding from the pink gums of some monstrous animal.

(Faber Castell HB pencil. Brand new - hence the texture)

Taken with 65mm extension tubes and a Nikon Speedlight SB-600 remote. Cropped, resized, USM, sharpen. Hue adjustment and saturation boost.

oversharpened, and i think a little lacking with the crop. doesn't give me a sense of fang, more a sense of a really close pencil.

I really like this idea, though I kinda wish the lead was way sharper, to the needle-like point like a fang would be. but the detail is absolutely amazing!

Nice close up on the pencil, it would be nice to see other teeth around it though. Without the title I wouldn't know what this is.

Wow, this is a pencil under a microscope? Reminds me of a Staligtite (SP?) from a cave. Cool image.
