I know, I know. Rule of thirds!! But how can you cut out a sky like that, or its reflection. Sheesh. Give me a break, guys! Rules were meant to be broken.

stupid rule of thirds...(skulking, still)

Ok, I'm done whining. I'm ready to listen.

That must be amazing to see on a regular basis. You've done it well and you know when to break that silly rule. I like that border too.

Lucky you to have this as a backyard! You know, I'm amazed at how often I see beautiful landscapes or seascapes hanging in galleries that totally ignore the rule of thirds, and in fact wouldn't work nearly as well if that "rule" were followed. I say it's always best to go with your artistic instincts. Nice job on this!

Rules are meant to be broken is right!! I wouldn't have been able to cut out either half either... This is a really gorgeous scene, amazing lines of clouds and a superb capture of the whole scene! This is perfect :-)

Heretic! You broke the rule of thirds! If this was in a voting challenge I would have to give you a 10...

Like the others have said, the rule of thirds is not a rule but an approach. Centered horizons and centered compositions can be very dramatic and pleasing. The composition you chose for this reflected image is right on the money.

Great Job!

The clouds are incredible, and the reflections! They are wonderful! The whole scene is perfect. Great job! And I agree the rule of thirds is way over rated!

Ok. . . .don't even get me started on that Rule of Thirds thing. In my humble opinion, the most of DPC has totally gone psycho about it and totally misses the point. The whole "Rule of Thirds" is meant to be a general guide to what usually makes a photo's composition more appealing. It was NOT meant to be a rigid "Every picture gets trashed if it doesn't follow it" kind of thing, which is what I notice DPC does.

This photo is STUNNING! EXACTLY how it is. . .no rule of thirds necessary! And the border is awesome too! :) Where is it???

Yowza. And rule of thirds is MEANT to be broken for shots like this. I love rule of halves when appropriate and is this ever appropriate! And yes, I do like the border - very nice! Great shot. Makes mine look pathetic... you could have waited a while to post it, you know. :-)
