This is a large sponge I bought for cleaning my car but never used it. The texture of it is kind of interesting.

Cropped, then used Levels, Contrast (very little), and USM. Noticed that "Save For Web" greatly increased the saturation the first time, so I desaturated it a little first to keep this original color.

Another one where I can really feel the texture - it pops right out at me.

Very interesting compostion of a sponge. The closeup is very interesting in that you can see all the pores with the sponge itself. Love the shadows in the shot, it really gives you a sense of the texture of the sponge.

Cool shot. Reminds me of all the slides of tissue and muscle I've been looking at in anatomy class lately!

Brilliant. The lighting and texture of this shot is *spot on*. This is exactly what I think this contest subject was aiming for. Who'd have thought a sponge would be so interesting? Congrats.

If the light was used just little better this shot would win. A sponge has so much texture, but your picture is a little over exposed in some areas and others the shadow hides that texture.

good shot - looks almost like bubbles - would like to see it bigger.

This is a beautifully photographed and nicely lit image that fits the Challenge perfectly. It might have more impact if you had been able to introduce a different shape or color into your composition to give it that "wow" factor. Nevertheless, it is a creditable job.

Very nice idea. Maby it would be cooler with the sponge wett of some color. Than u would have had colorbubbels also. 7

Good texture and lighting. I even like the border. It doesn't really hold my interest, however.

Cool picture. Nice sharp macro. If it wasn't for the title, the object would be a mystery. Good job.

That dark hole on the right draws my attention too much, I don't think you ment that to be your subject. When taking photos like this its better for something to stand out, and not just have a random pattern.

Nicely thought out and done

Good lighting, exposure. Would like to see something to grab the eye more - some point fo focus within this near-abstract image. Still, a pretty good demonstration of texture. it'll be worth my reconsidering after I've got through them all, thus 7 for now.
