 I came down with a nasty cold today and felt awful. I did drag myself out to take some cat pictures, then collapsed on the bed until noon. Then I had some Theraflu (great stuff!) and looked through the pictures I had taken in the morning. Blame it on the Theraflu, but this little series of images really caught my eye, and I proceeded to make a silly cartoon out of it. I improved the the subtitles over my original choices after a discussion with my boyfriend who is a black belt. So....I'm still on theraflu so I still think it's funny, hope ya'll do too!

I'm too punchy to add processing now, lots and lots of different effects on layers. I'll return...

EDA: Off the Theraflu and see that I can't spell -- who's ever heard of a 'prying' mantis??? Anyway, thanks for all the comments!!!!

Basic PP is as follows:
- little shadow/highlight adjustment
- create duplicate layer, apply Whyeth
- create duplicate layer, apply smart blur so that small details are smoothed
- create duplicate layer, apply find-edges filter; desat and invert this layer; blend mode to soft light, reduce opacity
- apply gradient layer to darken up the rug on bottom
- adjust levels

BTW -- no cats were harmed in the making of this cartoon! They really are just playing :-)

LMAO, this is freaking hilarious!! Adding as a fav, I can't believe your cats put on skits for you to take pictures of! SO not fair!

Tee heee! That is the cutest thing I've ever seen. Your sense of humor tells me you would be such a fun person to hang out with -- and sick and on Thera Flu no less :)

I do hope you are better now, but man. ..you did GOOD!!! This is awesome!

I love Kung Fu movies. "Praying Mantis counters Leopard's Paw!" OMG, that is adorable. I have to send this URL to a friend of mine who loves cats.

I hope you are feeling better. There's a lot of bad colds around me this week. I just keep washing my hands. :-/

I'm not on theraflu, or anything else for that matter, And I think that this is hilarious! They don't even need your distinctive processing to make them work. The poses, the expressions, and your comical captions are so perfect together. Keep the kitty pics coming! Oh, and feel better soon! :)
