 As it turns out I am in the middle of a painting that is primarily black, or at least has a primarily black background and as I was sitting down last night to paint and think I thought how it would be a cool representation of "black". The black object is not so much an object as a representation of the color black. However, to meet the challenge, the black object is - officially - the canvas.

poor post processing... the blacked-out part is disappointing... it doesn't match teh background.

Love the detail on the fingers. The blurry top left corner is really distracting though.
