This is great ... reminds me (positively) of some photos taken by a freind of mine, who is my only real contact with the world of professional photography.

The flames seem to have gotten a little over-exposed/banded, but this is a minor flaw which in no way detracts from the impact of the photo. I've become a fan of the square crop, and it works well with your composition.

If we get an "Industrial" gallery category I hope you put it there.

This shot has a lot of interest in subject matter. I find this refreshing to see something real rather than elaborate props to get an effect (Although some of those are very nicely done, too.) You did a great job with this one.

motion blur on the hand kind of detracts.

Great study - shutter speed is a little slow but it shows the action. A more unusual take on the challenge.

Very nice journalistic image. Composition is very effective, and the tonal range and colors are very nice indeed!

This, IMO, is a good raw photo of considerable historical, regional, even anthropological interest. With minor adjustments to brightness/contrast/levels/Unsharp Mask (all legal according to DPC Basic Editing rules) a truly great capture could, IMO, be rendered.

I am nevertheless grateful for having been taken inside a place entirely remote and foreign for me and will rate this entry accordingly.

What a pity this wasn`t in the National Geographic challenge as I`m sure it would have done well.
Good capture.

Very nice observation. Personally I'm scoring strictly natural interpretations of the theme higher but this represents a very basic harnessing of elements in such a way that does not compromise the idea behind the theme. Well shot
