I was finally able to figure out how to write these words after the challenge. Anyway, I want to thank everyone for voting for me on this challenge. The shot was taken in Downtown Houston Texas next to the Ex-Enron Building which is still vacant. The photo was totally worth all the harassiment I get from the security guards in downtown when I go shoot. They should know me by now lol.

Anyway, This building and walkway is the most photogenic of Downtown Houston, so I had most of my work cut out for me. :) Once again thank you so much for voting for me and letting me earn my first ribbon. It is a true honor. :)

Here are some other shots/outtakes that I had in mind for this challenge of the same building.

This was taken from the east side around 2 pm looking up. I really like that sun flare effect and the cripsness of the shot. Unfortunately I didnt think it was as interesting as the ribbon winner.

This was a close contender for the challenge entry, but it lacked what I liked mostly from the ribbon winner a frame that surrounded it.

This was the third contender. I really like this shot alot. It gives you that long effect of reaching out. Shame it didnt have such contrast in colors as the original.

All shots where taken with a canon 10-22mm Wide angle lense. Which is my lense of choice. :)

THank you all
Jaime

At first I was puzzled on why this was disqualified, but then I realized that I made a bonehead mistake on this shot. Apparently I had hit the burn tool and streaked it without noticing.
Here is the original that I had taken, I should have just submitted it instead.

Thanks again, until next ribbon.
Jaime

Love the angle and idea here. Great composition. Love how its like looking through this other building. Adds a lot to it. Nice work.

I like the color and the sky. The circular opening really keeps your eyes on the picture. This is actually quite a cool picture. I like it more the longer I look at it. I've got to regroup my rating system. This is the third out of 45 I've wanted to give an 11!

Nice shot of/through the sky ring. Keeping circle complete and buildings at a near-vertical perspective. I've seen this shot a number of times and those two issues usually plague the shot. Well done.

I wish you could've captured the Chevron Human Energy Poster that hangs on the inside. :)
