farley, i played with the colors, and actually meant to make the image slightly too orange.
Cyclop, thanks, i had to sit around and wait for that to happen
JeffDay, the passing cars were actually a good source of light for me.
iamwoman, thank you for your feedback, i will keep all these things in mind. Actually, the hydrants here are organge.
I guess DCP didn't like my photo. I barely managed to score above a 5. I wonder if i did my colors differently, i'd score better. |

A bit too much going on in this image. The hydrant idea was cool, but the location is 'too busy'. My eye can't decide whether to be drawn to the moody sky, the flash of tail-lights or the building behind.
Also I'm wondering if hydrants in your country aren't red? If so this image would have done with a bit of a kick in the red department using selective colours (if you use photoshop) |
