There is definately texture here, but with the harsh lighting it is de-emhasized. Shooting during early morning or late afternoon would help!

| What you ahev shown here is the patterning of the tree, rather than the texture of it - sure there are shadows in the bigger cracks, but what about the shadows that would let us see the smaller graduations of the surface texture - likewise there's a movement of colour through the frame, but the intensity of light seems even throughout, even at a quite detailed level. Hardly anywhere do i get a sense of roughness/smoothness. |

| Looks a little washed out on my monitor. This may be due to the weathering of the wood but I think with a little more contrast it would help bring out the texture more. |

| This is a great tree to shoot. I would have liked the details a little darker - it looks a little too contrasty or something. Good texture and composition. |

| The lightning here is very flat and uninteresting But the textures here are pretty interesting, needs to be a bit sharper, and mabey a different crop, good luck |
