Dead tree in a field near my home. Cropped to focus on the textures of the weathered wood. If you look long enough you can see many images hidden in this, as one can with clouds. It is essentially an abstract and may suffer for that but it has been fun playing with the crop, exposure compensation, saturation and sharpness to create a myriad of varied images, of which this is just one. It was a damp, cloudy day and not good for capturing textures but I like it anyway!

Good texture, maybe better if not so bright

seems a touch over exposed which has made this a little on the flat side.

Could have been a really nice shot if it was not over exposed. Some simple editing in a photo- editing program would have helped a lot.

Seems to be a little overexposed

There is definately texture here, but with the harsh lighting it is de-emhasized. Shooting during early morning or late afternoon would help!

What you ahev shown here is the patterning of the tree, rather than the texture of it - sure there are shadows in the bigger cracks, but what about the shadows that would let us see the smaller graduations of the surface texture - likewise there's a movement of colour through the frame, but the intensity of light seems even throughout, even at a quite detailed level. Hardly anywhere do i get a sense of roughness/smoothness.

[World Record Attempt]
+ Textures are present. Interesting tree.
- The colours feel washed out and the photo is not able to hold my attention for more than a few seconds.

Nice composition, but thephoto is washed out and you lose a little detail

Looks a little washed out on my monitor. This may be due to the weathering of the wood but I think with a little more contrast it would help bring out the texture more.

Beautiful wood, however I think the image could use some contrast as it appears a little flat.

This is a great tree to shoot. I would have liked the details a little darker - it looks a little too contrasty or something. Good texture and composition.

The lightning here is very flat and uninteresting But the textures here are pretty interesting, needs to be a bit sharper, and mabey a different crop, good luck

Amazing shapes in the wood, as well as a great rendition of texture.

this could benefit from deeper colour saturation, it all looks a little pale. great subject though.

Perfect subject just seems a really washed out if there was a little more contrast this would be a very high rated photo. (5)
