I was particularly intrigued by the appearance of the leading edge feathers. I have not noticed those before on other bird pictures. They appear to function like a spoiler or leading-edge flap on an aircraft.

The bird must have learned this by watching man fly…

Great stop-action shot, you are right, the leading-edge feathers are new to me, too. I like the look on his face, too, so at one with his flying.
