 An Elk taken just before he crossed the stream in a meadow, the shot was taken in Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. This was just one in a herd of at least 200 elk that we watched for a about an hour. The Elk were also bugling with is an awesome thing to hear.

Adjusted curves, duplicated image, applied neat image, erased neat image on elk, sixed, shaprened original, slight desat, merged layers, dodge/burn, applied some blur around the edges, saved for web.

Oh man!! This makes me so homesick for RMNP! What a spectacular elk photo. This one screams to be matted and framed -- in an enormous size -- and hung in a rich, manly office!

I can't get over how underrated it is!

Wow, rad wildlife shot. Looks like you've cropped it in pretty tight (and I can't blaim you). Seems a tad over-sharpened to me. Still, great shot.

Love the gentleness of the grasses. Shame about the light on the animal, bit too harsh around the face and tail.
