Ok, so there's only one bee, but it sounded better plural. Took a few shots of my marigolds before they freeze & die. There were several bees on them, all moving pretty slow since it's been colder.
I used suemack's old book texture (overlay mode) & goodman's glass texture (hard light mode) both at different opacities.

Love the textures and the bright colors. The bee pops right out of the picture.

BRILLIANT BRANDI !!!!!! .. you've nailed it with this one .. fantastic colours and i love your bee .. !! ... your bee is very different from the bees around here, much darker and aggro looking .. ours look like they wouldnt hurt a fly, yours looks like he's in terminator !!!! ..
just before i posted wot i just wrote i scrolled down and noticed the very last comment had said that you'd nailed it .. how weird, coz i dont think i'v said that before .. :)

Oh Brandi, what a lovely image! I don't know, but in my experience a marigold is a relatively small flower so to see a bee so large in relation to the flower is frightening with a capital F! He's pretty though :-) Wonderful choice of overlays
