 Another bird shot for free study, destined for another 5.6 or so. I shot this in the early morning light, just after the sun came up and its rays were just catching this guy doing his thing along the shore. I like how the light captures his feathers and coloration, and the open beak was a bonus.

Working with my 200mm zoom, the longest I had with me, I gradually crept closer and closer to him trying to fill the frame with my shot. When I got too close, he opened his beak and cawwed at me, then took off. This shot is about a half a second before he flew away. Its about a 50% crop from the original.
