Lighting is too harsh, blown highlights, not enough deep rich tone...looks washed out.

strange detail of that tree you chose. furthermore, it's too bright on the right side and rather brownish.

It's a wonderful old tree. The lighting seems a bit harsh, mid-day? Late afternoon would be an ideal time to shoot this subject.
