I noted that a lot of your comments so far have to do with advanced editing, and not noticing the advanced editing techniques being used. Interestingly enough, seeing this photo, I can see now where you dodged and burned, for sure - BUT when I looked at it during voting the first thing to come to my mind was NOT "oh look at those advanced editing techniques!" This is because your dodging and burning was done in a nice smooth way that worked really consistantly with your lighting.
Dodging and burning can be pretty obvious in some photos, yes. Yet sometimes they can be applied with a very light touch. Advanced editing isn't *just* about dodging and burning, either. There are TONS of very subtle things that can be done that might not jump out at a viewer of the photo, but without which the final image would NOT be possible.
As long as people aren't doing *more* than what the rules allow, they are free to do less, and that still "qualifies" for advanced editing. If you still prefer the more blatant things to the more subtle, that's 100% your call. As far as I'm concerned feel free to vote up or down for that as you see fit! But, you might be better understood if you left comments to that effect... I don't think you *mean* to come across as accusatory. You'd probably do better saying that the processing doesn't match your style, or giving specific examples of what you would have liked to see differently *in that image*. Two reasons for this are that people might use your comments to help see what they could improve for the future, and people who did indeed use advanced editing would not be as likely to feel insulted.
edit: I didn't say the most important thing! Thanks for your comments! Because it's really awesome to get comments, and so often people do not have the time for that. So thank you :-)
