 Happy Halloween DPC! I had an extra pumpkin from a party we went to this weekend and decided to carve one up for the Halloween Challenge - I thought it would be fun - not expecting a great score - but what the heck, maybe I can get a 6 for pumpkin carving!

Shot in Raw - Uses CS2 RAW converter - adjusted exposure, curves, sharpness. save.
Opened JPG in elements 3. Cropped, blurred background trick or treaters, cloned out edges of windows, burned background a bit, dodged DPC pumpkin. Noise ninja, Adjusted levels and hue/saturation.
Save for web and sharpened using USM at small radius.

Post Challenge This is freaking hilarious! Now I have to stare at this pumpkin carving shot until I can get some more scores above 6.6. I am convinced I got a better score for the carving than for the photo...

Top ten finish, front page score...That'll teach you for putting the effort in!!!

If I am honest I have to say I dont think this is one of your top four shots challenge wise, but you have 'paid the price' for getting across a really nice sentiment that captured the challenge very well

I have to say I am VERY impressed by your carving skills if you did the two on the left hand side as well!!!

Nawwwwww. . .this is an AWESOME photo!!!!! Pumpkin Carving 10!!! Overall photo. . .definitely top 10. . .no top 3-worthy! This is a photo I'd be proud to have staring at me from my front page for a while :)

Congrats on top 10! Really a well thought out and composed image. There could be worse images to see in your top rated. Just get on the ball now and start scoring yourself some 7s!

Some nice carving going on there. Nice photographic perspecitve (I will refrain from speculating on what it says about your overall life perspective that you carved a pumpkin just for us). Hope your Halloween was happy as well :-)
