Snippet of The Autumn by Elizabeth Barrett Browning
Go, sit upon the lofty hill,
And turn your eyes around,
Where waving woods and waters wild
Do hymn an autumn sound.
The summer sun is faint on them -
The summer flowers depart -
Sit still - as all transform'd to stone,
Except your musing heart.
I don't feel like this very often but STUFF the score this time!
I recently took a trip with my bestfriend to a wonderful part of the world. My very first visit to the Isle of Mull in Scotland was even better than I had imagined. We had wonderful weather, met some great people, saw some spectacular scenery, spent some quality time outdoors, ate great food (the Fish and chips in Tobermory are amazing!) and forgot about the world and all our problems for 9 superb days.
This image was taken whilst we were away and each time I look at it I find myself transported back to that lovely sunny day. Now we are home I wish more than anything that I could just hobble outside and see this beautiful view again.
Thank you, Andi, for giving me the chance to experience the Islands beauty, for never once complaining about how slow I hobble, for putting up with all my ailments and for making this holiday one I will never forget. Your a star and I can't wait till we go back! XxX |

Umm... only 2 comments? What a disgrace :(
Ok, well for a start, the horizon is perfectly fine. If one was to scrutinise for more than 3 seconds, one would realise that the mountains/islands are at varying distances causing a minor optical illusion. I've seen this countless times. If you were to tilt it anti-clockwise, for example, I believe the farthest sharp mountain peaks would then be pointing at an unnatural angle.
It's glorious image. The size restriction does not give it enough justice. |

But, the water would rush out the right side of the image, if this were to be taken at face value. Horizons are important. |
