This ear of corn is pointed toward the sky is because it is a squirrel feeder.

IMHO the background does not go with the main subject. Good subject for 'Textures' with the dimples brought out nicely.

I like the POV and colours, but I think the left hand side could have been cropped a little bit to hide the stem.

quite good on the feel of the corn. Setting it against that background is odd - it adds elements of story to the shot, it being such an unusual point of view, but for the life of me I can't say what that story is. seems a meaningless, arbitrary thing to do, to me.

good idea, but why use trees as a back drop? think a cloudy blue sky would work better.

I totally adore this picture. the focus on the cob is very precise, and the angle and perspective serves the subject matter really well. colours are splendidly sharp, and the image is very touchy - fingers are tingling just by looking at it. bloody well done - 10.

The composition is very interesting with the diagonal setup of the corn reaching for the sky. The contrasting colors of the sky and the corn really help to make your eyes concentrate on the corn. Great DOF on the corn. The shadows really bring out the texture of the corn.

Man, corn is excellent subject and exposure is nice. Background, however, is very distracting and puzzling.

This seems unatural to me. We have nice juice corn on the cob, pointing to a cold, forest-like scenery. To me this is unatural and should have been avoided. Assuming the texture of the corn on the cob is your subject, I would have liked to see this in a more natural environment. Even on a plate. Good luck.

Meets the challenge, but i just doesn't grab me for some reason...maybe it's the trees or something...i don't know. But since it does convey texture I give it a 6. Good luck in the challenge.

The corn really has loads of texture, but for some reason, when i look at the corn, i dont really see a focus point on it.
