Not much to say. Shot a lime with the Canon EF-S lens. Cropped, resized, applied levels, applied USM with GIMP.

On your shot: excellent color on the lime and good juciness. To make this solid image better (IMHO): better/more complimentary background

I still like it. However the light is a bit harsh and caused some glare. I can live with the shadow. Good color, and nice composition. Good luck to you in the challenge.

Nice idea but IMHO I think that a low side lighting would fit better to create more relief.

Different composition at least. Makes the pulp of the fruit look kind of plastic - that's down to quite a lot of direct ferlection, I would guess. I think lighting from a shallower angle would help add some definition - this seems quite flat to me.
