This photo shows part of a statue made in honour of the famous Dutch painter Rembrandt. I think you can feel the appearance of texture here :p. I used my 50mm/f1.8 and was again surprised by the sharpness of the image. I love this lens a lot :).

After the appliance of NeatImage I desaturated the photo, colorized it, change the levels a bit and added a border.

What a striking study - your choice to focus on this one small element of a larger sculpture is really fascinating - and the composition works very well. The detail really is excellent.

Beautiful closeup of a statues hand. The composition shows the handmade quality of the statue with each individual stroke used in the making of it. Sephia tone gives a nice feeling to the shot.

I really like the texture but color would have gotten a vote at least 1 point higher

I'm back to comment. Nice DOF and use of the statue, I really like the title. The texture is detailed and the lighting is good. The tone works really well with it.

Keep it up...

Neat approach - interesting to take the idea of touch in this way, as wellas to communicate the feel of metal (?), or perhaps laquered wood as well as you have photographically. A very coherent, balanced photograph. Detailing is excellent, and the tonality brings the focus to the fel of the subject very well.
