What an interesting story, Dawn! And a gorgeous photo! But. . .I'm wondering. . .how do they prove that you are a Chumash Indian or not? Is someone really at the base of the rock making sure no one but one of "them" gets to go up? That actually looks like quite an accomplished hike. It would be FUN! 576 feet isn't a ton of elevation. . . but when its practically at a 90 degree angle, it's a pretty credible hike!
I love this photo!

The rock looks so majestic sticking out of the water like that. I agree about maybe playing with the contrast a bit to really have the light and shadow on the rock jump out. This is a really cool picture. |

Impressive rock.
Perhaps you should darken ths photo somewhat, so that the beautiful light on the right side of the rock gets more attention. |

Love the reflections in the water of the Rock and dark clouds, light on rock, and how you got it to dwarf the hills. (At first I wondered about the balance of the photo -it's a sickness in me - but the whole seems to create a tension or movement to the right to supply/imagine what lies beyond, led by the diagonal cloud reflection and the shoreline. (And I'm very glad to be informed). |

I really like this...I might have cropped out a little more of the water at the bottom to draw in the rock a little more??? just my opinion. I think it also works very well as it is. |
