Challenge: Topless...With No People (Basic Editing)
Camera: Canon EOS-400D Rebel XTi
Lens: Tamron SP AF 28-75mm f/2.8 XR Di for Canon
Location: Kitchen table
Date: Nov 9, 2007
Aperture: 2.8
ISO: 200
Shutter: 1/100
Date Uploaded: Nov 10, 2007

I wanted to show this half of a PB&J as lonely, missing it's top half.
Used natural light from one side to create mild shadow.
Canon's DPP was used to crop, correct WB, and add a little saturation.

I think I would like it better without the top edge of the image. The color and textures are nice.

Okay here's a kinda weird question. Is that organic peanutbutter? By the way nice background choice... This made me realize just how important a backdrop is when taking still life shots. Thanks. The green edge in the far back does take alot away from the shot though. A high seven-for originality and clarity. Sorry, I didn't vote higher, I 'm quite the critic.

Maybe more contrast of colours would have been a better choice... the object of focus seems less interesting with all that brown..

So the j is the top? what if I like it the other way around? Interesting concept, although the image isn't flattering enough to make me want to eat it.

NICE idea! I like the texture on the bread.

The composition is too centered, I think and the circular motion of the mat is a bit distracting. However, I think a closer crop of this would be much more effective because it looks like the details are really good.

I would have liked to see the WHOLE sandwich in focus... but this was a great idea and a good shot!!
