Absolutely an evocation of book smarts. I want to know this woman. Great b&w conversion. |

From a meets-the-challenge perspective, this nailed it. Completely. From a technical perspective, the detail in the lights and darks is perfect and it's well composed. From a photographic perspective, it very much reminds me of jjbeguin. |

Hmmm, no mention of any sexy lenses - I am disappointed ;)
I cannot believe this did not score higher! What an amazing candid moment. I love pointandshoot's description - just perfect. Congrats on the top 20! |

You have captured that special moment when a mother holds her newborn for the first time. I like how the lens distortion makes the cabinet appear to be falling away from the scene as if nothing else in the world is more important than the immediate. This is book smarts. |

Wow, talk about unrrated :/ Sometimes voters need spend an extra second reviewing the image! You should be proud of this image regardless of the score, real keeper, also received an 8 from me. |

Coming back for a comment - very good shot. I think it meets the challenge very well, but not in a very obvious way. It's more of who the subject is as a person (which I think your pic captures well) than what the subject is doing. I'm guessing the title cost you at least 0.5 in the score - it's not a very straightforward image but you chose to confuse quick voters even more with the title. Also, nothing is really vertical in the image, everything is falling away at some different angle. You got an 8 from me.

I'm left wondering about the connection to the challenge. I'd also like to know more about what she's holding and where she is. |

A fabulous image - clearly one of the best in the challenge. This woman displays such grace and her facial expression shows an awesome attachment to her craft |
