My poor wife is forced to model now that I have a lighting setup.

We shot an image similar to this a week ago. I used to Vivitar flashes and some umbrellas. There were some things we didn't like about the shot, so now that I have some monolights we wanted to reshoot it.

Each of the shots have individual elements that we like, but I think this is a better shot overall. I never imagined that lighting would be so difficult to learn!

I put a circular polarizer over the lens so I could keep the narrow depth of field, yet use the lighting. Overall I think it worked.

I've made a pact with myself, since I screwed up the order of things in the thread, I'm leaving some comments...This being the first.

I really like this photo, and if you have this model on a continuous basis, you should work with her more. Having said that, I think her hair should have more light or dodged PP, I don't like it fading into black, but of course that could just be personal preference.

I like her form, stance, or posture it is well thought of, and her lipstick has good flash, and you seemed to of executed the right tones, and the light seems perfect aside from not enough on her hair.

I think if you had her sitting up more and shot from above her looking down, it would have brough the focus better to her eyes and... other areas.

Nice pic though, but doesn't grab me like it should.

Different and sexy. The sepia with just a touch of red on the lips is nice.

It's always good to see a different perspective in a pose and this is different and interesting. The model looks a bit uncomfortable, as though the blood is rushing to her head and her missing right arm is a bit disturbing. I hope you keep working like this and trying new things :)
