Too bad this scored so low. I loved it during the voting and thought it would finish higher. But sometimes the most interesting shots land in the 4's. Don't let it get you down. |

I know that corner :) I like the red hand. it has some noise but doesn't bother me. I think it would have been stronger if you had shot more of the people and less of the buildings to make the crowd fill the frame more. |

One of the few times this would work... but it definitely meets the challenge. This is one of those photos you almost expect to see hanging in a coffee shop. |

Post processing seems a little harsh, and the highlights are too washed out in the background. Also, I can see three other black people in the image so he's not exactly alone in a crowd. It would work better to have a model stand for you, and do a timed exposure. Then, you would have your dude isolated not only by your composition but by his race. See for a good example of what I'm talking about |

If the black guy in the middle is begging and being ignored, then this meets the challenge perfectly - the only issue is that it took me a while to figure it out because at first I thought he was just walking along with a coffee cup like the guy to his left. Then it didn't make sense.
But I'm there now :- )
Wonderful crowd scene - not just a few bodies around him, but stretching down out of sight, and across the other side of the road as well.
This has got lot's of really good elements to it - great crop, wonderful mix of expressions, conveys the hustle and bustle of a major city superbly - the only downsides are 1) a little bit noisy (but not a big issue) and 2) the guy just doesn't quite stand out enough for me, at first glance he is part of the crowd, rather than aolne in it.
Otherwise really good shot. |

Ok croud shot but I would have liked to see an isolation on one of the people in the crowd |

I understand by the title but a better cropping would have punched up the image better. |

The photo looks grainy and over exposed. Perhaps a slower SS would have made the object stand out more. |

The red hand is very grainy. I think that is the focus of the photo, just not sure. |

I love the local shots of my hometown, even though it does portray one of San Francisco's biggest issues. Great shot all around. |
