 I had all my editing steps here once and now their gone... maybe later I will fill it back in with the hopes it won't get deleted again...

Here the quickie version...
Raw converted into 3 simulated exposures...
Photomatix...HDR...tone-mapped
Selective color changes, burn, dust and scratches, Neatimage, crop...

This is basically a snap shot... I am entering it to see what kind of response I get from DPC... I had no plan when shooting this to use it in any challenge...
When I started editing this I started to like it more and more, I just had to dig through to find the beauty under the original, lol...
I hope the picture quality is not suffering, I had to save this at a much lower quality then I am used to because of the large file size.
This really isn't the typical DPC Free Study image so I don't know what to expect...
I am planning to go back to this location sometime and do a model shoot here as it would be PERFECT... but it is 6 hours away so it might be a while...

The scale of the pipe thing is befuddling - which is cool. Processing brings something to this - like you note, it became more than what it was.

I really enjoy looking at photos of old buildings and relics of our industrial past, and this is a really strong example of the genre. Good work!

I think the processing has left this a bit flat. I would like to see how it looked with the saturation boosted a little bit. Interesting choice though.
