 A Sunny but cold afternoon round the park with the camera trying to think what "conflict" meant (looking for dogs fighting, kids in tantrums etc.). Suddenly a statue I'd passed countless times without thought seemd to be the answer. Thanks to this competition I read the words for the 1st time.

I like the tree angles compared to the statue base - gives it kind of a surreal feel.

I like this photo. I wish there was a way to see the monument from the top a bit better, but this angle does show the inscription better. Beautiful sky and setting!

This needs a tighter crop to loose the rocks and reduce the background clutter.
