 One of these days I must enter something other than blue and orange for complementary colors challenges. 3 in a row! LOL! For the unitiatied, the background is the back of a piece of Thair black inked paper purchased at an art supply store.

Post: Convert from raw in PSElements 3.0. Layer adjustments for levels, brightness/contrast and hue/saturation. Cropped bottom up and in left for aspect ratio. Selective color to bump blues and decrease magentas as the vase and the delphinium were leaning more purple than blue. USM. Resize. USM.

While the background color is complementary, it seems to me the orange flowers get lost in the background. They just didn't "pop" for me.

I nice still life, I would have moved the vase more fro the wall as I find the texture is controlling he photo.

Nice still. The background mutes the orange flowers but it makes the purples stand out so it probably works. Great shot though.

I really like the color scheme and the texture in the background.
The lighting is good. The composition feels a little to tall. It needs a few smaller objects to create a grouping and a visual triangle.

Really like the background and lighting. For the vase, wouldn't it be cool if it where a glass one, filled with blue water? ;)
