This picture has a really ominous feel that I quite enjoy. At the same time thought it looks like there is a light vanquishing the darkness and this clash amounts to a great picture. This picture definitely deserved to score higher than it did!

Very unique shot, i like the high contrast and very unique tones as well, i think it do well simply because people are scared to see a shot that isn't the "typical" shot, so they voted it low, but i really like the uniqueness here, very nice.

PHEW! I am SO glad I'm not an asshole! LOLOLOL! I gave you a 7. I thought this was creative and different! I'm that flower novice who has a really tough time seeing anything other than...a flower...from a typical POV! YAWN!

I didn't vote, but I would've scored this very high, I really like the contrastiness, lighting, and unusual subject. Interesting! I think this has quite an artistic look. It's funny that this shot managed to piss one person off enough to give you a 1, haha!

Anyway, it just goes to show how some voters are hung up on subject matter over quality and a truly (to me) interesting shot, which could be hanging in a gallery. There are a good number of 7+ scores, though, so there are some voters with good taste. I'll go out on a limb and say that anybody who scored this shot 5 or under is an asshole.

Cheers!
:-)

Interesting take on a mundane subject.

i really like this photo, i havge been getting into the high-contrast b-w myself. its a nice odd composition, even though some of the areas are a little too dark.

Like something out of a 40s magazine (not that I read any magazines in the 40s, mind you!) I like the slight double exposure kinda thing.

Personally I love a dark and moody shot, so this definetly tickles my spot... I love the duo tones here and the choice of subject is not 1 we see it everyday in here! So bonus points to you 10
