Well this is actually a placeholder shot I entered in this challenge in case I forgot about it and turns out I did! Very happy with the shot and not sure I would have changed it but it was extremely hectic at work that week and I went early to bed that friday night.

Shot was taken when me, Indriði and Sissi went out for borealis photos but guess what, just like last week the weather looked nice from the city but when we got out in the countryside it got cloudy real fast. Only interesting thing that came from it was this halo around the Moon so that is what I decided to photograph. It´s not lensflare, it´s something that is very visible with the naked eye but I am not sure what it´s called in english but in Icelandic it´s called "Rosabaugur".

I know the light looks a bit wierd on that hill beneath the moon but I swear that was the way it looked, there was some strange light just hitting the middle of it like you see there and I still don´t get where that light is coming from and why it wasn´t hitting the whole hillside evenly.

Maybe some forgotten titan from the ancient tales was holding a giant tinfoil reflector just for us? Think I owe him a beer then cause I like that effect.

I love moon halo's. Not sure the scientific name for them. Always eye inspiring to see them. Excellent find.

I like the pearly silver of this shot. Very dramatic. It has the scifi feel of another planet.

Wow, this looks like a road I do not want to take fearing the aliens might abduct me. I'm loving this photo. A favorite of mine in this challenge. Great catch!

I like it, but I wish the (moon?) was clearer. I know that was probably impossible given that the halo comes from suspended ice crystals that refract the light (and also blur the moon), but I can dream...always easier to be a critic! However, you've captured a unique effect well, and your composition is spot on--7
