Was this by chance taken in Mexico? I know young bullfighters have been increasing in popularity there, and Spain has a legal age limit. But I'm not morally chastising you, since ethics have nothing to do with this photo - which, by the way, is wonderfully energetic. The red cape's a bit blown out, but with the rest of the picture exposed properly, that'd be hard to fix. Very nice job! |

REALLY awesome shot! The animal lovers who are upset about this shot are missing something. The bull is a pretty sympathetic chararcter in this shot. The young bullfighter's face is captured in great detail and his expression is so over the top, he serves as a parody for the masochistic tradition he represents.
Photojournalism doesn't get any better than this.
Very, very, VERY well done! |

This is a photography contest, not a moral one! In no way should you have got so many low marks! This is stunning, and in my opinion worthy of a ribbon! I much prefer your image to mine. |

And still there are idiots that would give a 1, 2, or 3 on this photo. I offset a couple of them with my 10. |

Superb capture! Intrigued to know how close you were to the action - looks like you are about to be ploughed over by the poor bull. |

just the right moment for an excellent composition - too bad about the people in the background but, given the angle, you cropped it at the best spot (imho) -- one of my favorites this challenge |

Very cruel, would rather see the blades stuck in his back.
However technically it is a very good photo, the positioning of the bull and fighter is perfect. |

Great picture - strong on action. Well done. I am giving it a 10 based on the photography. However, I can't pass on this photo without saying that I strongly urge you to emphasize with the animal in this scene and perhaps read, even just a little bit, about the scientific evidence that animals have the same range of emotions as humans. Cruelty for entertainment is not a human right. |

As a female who likes animals often better than people and who wasn't raised where this is an honored sport, I find this both terribly sad and impressive at the same time. The bull's face - it's eyes - is so terribly pained. Yet the grace and intensity of the bullfighter is quite exquisite. |

Perfect timing. Spot-on focus. Just a fabulous capture of the action.
I keep coming back to this one. The pose, the facial expression, the dirt flying. I have to bump this up again and tag it as a favorite. |

This is a very dramatic photo. Well captured. Well composed. Well edited. The expression on the matador's face is perfectly in character. I fear it will generate a lot of negative reaction due to the subject. While in Madrid, I learned to appreciate bullfighting, but it is definitely an acquired taste, one few voters will share. Hopefully I'm wrong in this. |

10 just for catching the decisive moment!
maybe from a small crop but the bull seems a little pixellated in the dark regions where maybe you tried to recover some shadows? no matter
Viva la Matador! |

This is a fabulous action shot but it makes me sad at the same time because I am an animal fanatic and hate seeing suffering and am not a bullfighting fan. Nonetheless emotions aside, great impact. Good luck 8 |

hehe - cue animal rights activists posting how horrible you are for going to a bullfight and supporting it by doing so (just look at the number of 1, 2 and 3 votes the photo definitely doesnt deserve to know how many there are ;)). I say great action shot, though the bull seems to have a bit of motion blur which isnt enough for the "sense of motion" and is a bit too much for clarity of shot. Typical pose and expression on his face and a nice composition :) |

Fantastic action shot! Love the intensity in the Matador's face and body language! The colors are beautiful! I like the action blur on the bull. Im not sure about the crop..... I wonder if you had to crop it so tightly because there was something you needed to crop out that was distracting. If not... a little more room would have been nice. Beautifully done :) |
