 Thanks for all the comments and suggestions on my photo.
I shopped for fruit, cut it up, took this photo and submitted it all within the final hour. The thought of not having a photo to track is unbearable to this hopeless addict to dpc. (Ordinary fruit, to me, is when you grab an apple and take a big bite. When it's cut up and displayed in a fancy bowl...now that's extraordinary!
LOL Must be something from my childhood.

well it is at least fresh fruit so that it is its favor and the bowl is nice cut crystal type....it just does not look all the extraordinary....nice colors but would have like to have seen more of the fruit in focus and less of the background.

nice composition, although I find fruit in general to be exciting, bursting with personality and not really mundane. Maybe rotten fruit shown in a beautiful bowl would be fitting.

Whlie the colors are quite appertizing I find this capture to be too literal and too sharpened. Also, I don't think you had to lift up the tablecloth in the background. You've also got some blown out hightlights on top probably from lighting that is too harsh.

Nicely done - the color of the strawberries is perfect. Good DOF control as well.

This feels a bit oversharpened to me, and the table-cloth-like background, which would normally be flat if it were a tablelcoth, bends upwards... it's disconcerting!
Also, I would have eitehr cropped it tighter, or tried to capture a bit more in the frame, right now it's in an ambivalent middle ground.

I liked your photo, though the piece of banana draws my eye in, I think maybe too much shadow and tilting it slightly would have worked better
