This is great apart from the background. You mention the streamer obviously but the floor and basket to the right are off-putting.... as you say nothing that some post would not get rid of. Is it possible to get the hair light further around because it's a little flat on the left side of her hair & background. |

Yes, I totally agree. Thanks for pointing it out. If I edit this one up properly, I will certainly address that. She's actually really hard to photograph, because when she smiles normally, she almost shuts her eyes. I spent this whole shooting saying "eyes open, eyes open, eyes open"! But yes, we all had a lot of fun with these. |

I too have been trying to get a feel for portraits and lighting. I have looked at this set of photos and the kids look like they had a blast.I wish my kids would do the same. All the other shots had good lighting . I am a big fan of making sure the eyes are lit up properly.In this shot however she might have moved on you but her position has caused her eyes to be out of the light. They are too dark for me. Other than that good work! |
