This challenge REALLY was a challenge for me as I much much prefer to be on the other side of the camera. I appreciate that the shot is a tad dark/noisy but this is one of the very rare occasions when my smile for a picture appears natural and not a grotesque rictus (even if you can only see it slightly in my eyes).

A couple of big thank yous are required. I used fotomann-forever's tutorial for the black and white conversion (which made this a whole lot better and idnic's great pimp your eyes tutorial

The weird thing is that I had not intended to 'go green' with this shot and had tried to pimp my eyes browner (their natural colour). Then when I started playing around with the hue and sat levelson the conversion it started having the effect of turning my eyes green which i then accentuated

I almost wish I could wear contact lenses (the idea of sticking something on my eyeballs makes my stomach churn) so I could invest in a green pair because the I like the effect

Handsome portrait, Jon! I should have recognized you. The good humor really shines through despite the fact you are "hiding" -- the unusual pose is really great, too, and the composition is somewhat humble (in a good way). Nice grainy film look.

Jon. I didn't know you had green eyes. The effect works very well to draw attention to a very good self portrait.

The green works great for the challenge. But I must admit to being quite partial to your natural brown. LOVE the direct eye contact and the hidden smile seen through your eyes. A very lovely self portrait of a very handsome man.

Hi Jon! Cute photo! I like how you've tucked yourself into the corner like that. At least you aren't looking so serious this time. Are your eyes really that green or was it really just an ENVY moment? lol Good luck!

Feh. Don't envy them, just do shoot to make yourself happy. Nice touch on the green eyes, though.

Not a fan of the processing. It makes it look like you have hair on your arms. And the eye color is un-natural. Then again, maybe it's just me.

The selective color in this images is very subtle. I'm usually not a fan of this technique but you used it wisely here. 6
