I know this will do poorly. There is too much going on, the viewer will search for the subject because he takes up such a small portion of the photo.

I purposely left him small to show how unimportant he is in the day to day life of people who have few options. This is the sort of thing that happens all over the world, most of us do not understand the sacrifices that others have to make.

I love this image Barbara. It tells a hellish story. Very nice.

Barbara, this was one of my favourite pictures in the challenge (If favoured is the right word for such a poigniant and evocative picture)

I understood completely why you had left the child small and slightly out of focus as it just adds to the feeling of isolation and desolation

A great image and one of your best (imo) which deserved to score and place much higher than it did

I love the fact that "there is so much going on", it adds to the hell of the situation. The story is captured with one capture, the expression and eye contact say it all.

Sad, but shouldn't you have focused on the child? Looks like the lady's butt is the focal point.

I like the idea, but to fit in with the title, the child should be in focus, not the adults.

Oh, nice capture. I like the idea and the picture. I'd rather have the focus on the kid with the grown ups not in focus.

Good luck.

This one stirs my thoughts...Good photo! poor child... Wondering how this would've looked with focus emphasized on the child?
