Post Challenge: LOL 5.99! so close to a 6! very happy with the top 20 finish, if only i had broken the 6 mark :)
so i had this great idea about "to hell in a hand basket", if only it weren't basic editing! i really wanted to photoshop "real" little people into the basket, but this was the best i could come up with for basic. i hope you at least enjoy the humor if nothing else.
thanks to my friend sarah for drawing the little people for me to cut out, and thanks also to my friend kim for helping me with the set-up. basically, i made a little cut-out and taped it in front of a flashlight set under the cloth inside the basket. exciting, i know :) i had to use much less light than i wanted for this shot in order to not wash out the people shadows. a brighter flashlight in the basket made it hard to tell what the people were supposed to be, so in the end this is what i decided on. i hope i don't get knocked down too much for the graininess (is that a word?) of the red cloth... it was a lighting nightmare... and i've still got a lot to learn.

Hue/Saturation to desaturate all the hues except for red
Color balance to make the arm look ghoulish (yes, those weird blue tones are purposeful!)
Levels/Curves, Highlights/Shadows, Brightness/Contrast (all little tweeks)
